Vacation Homes

While some sectors of the economy struggle to regain solid footing, the vacation home market is enjoying healthy numbers.  The National Association of Realtors' (NAR) 2010 Investment and Vacation Home Buyers Survey, covering existing0and new-home transactions in the U.S. in 2009, shows vacation home sales rose 7.9 percent from last year.  Locally, the numbers are even better.  Resort area home sales last month increased more than 21 percent of the same month last year.  Sales in July appear to be headed in the same direction, with 139 settlements pending at the end of June as compared to 119 last year.
